WebRadar works by sending out electromagnetic energy in the form of radio waves toward objects, commonly known as targets, and then detecting the replies. Targets may be aircraft, ships, or things as small as birds. Put simply, it is a way to detect objects and determine their distance using radio waves. WebRadar sends out a pulsed radio signal. That signal travels outwards until it encounters an object like an aircraft (or anything capable of reflecting radio-wave energy) Part of that signal is reflected back to the radar. That echo is then picked up by the antenna and displayed for the radar operator on a screen.
